Affiliate Disclosure
The Short Version
We believe in transparency. The Tread Index is a for-profit business. Some of the links on our site are "affiliate links," which means if you click on them and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission. This comes at no extra cost to you, but it helps keep the lights on and allows us to continue developing our AI review tools.
How Relationships Work
Our goal is to provide the most objective, data-driven treadmill reviews on the web using our proprietary AI analysis. To do this, we partner with major retailers and manufacturers.
When you click a link on our site to visit a retailer (such as Amazon, Dick's Sporting Goods, NordicTrack, Horizon Fitness, or others), that retailer puts a "cookie" in your browser. This cookie lets them know that you came from our site. If you buy something, they give us a percentage of the sale as a "thank you" for the referral.
Our Editorial Independence
We are not paid to write positive reviews. Our reviews are generated based on specifications and community sentiment analysis. If a treadmill has bad specs or angry users, our AI will reflect that, regardless of whether we have an affiliate relationship with the brand.
No Pay-for-Play: Brands cannot pay us to alter the AI's rating or the "Bottom Line" verdict of a review.
Program Participations
1. Amazon Associates Program
The Tread Index is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
2. Other Affiliate Programs
We also participate in affiliate programs with other fitness retailers and networks. These may include AvantLink, ShareASale, CJ Affiliate, Impact, or specific brands like Bowflex/Sole, among others.
If you have any questions about our potential earnings or relationships, please feel free to contact us.
